However, not all members are like this. Many of us are out here repping the positive stoner image by proving doubters wrong. Yes, we can smoke weed and be productive in our work lives. We can toke up and still exercise and take care of ourselves. We use this amazing bud to better ourselves, not bring ourselves down.Â
If you want to help represent the positives of what cannabis is and has to offer, here are 3 simple ways you can help break down the stoner stereotype:Â
- STOP calling it a drug. Cannabis may have been treated like a drug in the past, largely due to misinformation and propaganda, but come on dudes. We’ve entered a whole new decade and countless countries are now not only supporting the plant, but seeing a positive impact on their communities and economies. So stop calling it a drug and start appreciating it for a plant with more than one purpose.Â
- Educate don’t debate. Often at times when introducing people to weed we tend to debate the benefits until someone gets over it. However, we need to be careful as we don’t want to give off the wrong impression.                                                                                               It can leave a negative memory in one’s mind when they get a cannabis consumers strong views on the plant pushed upon them. So rather give them the tools to form their own opinion as opposed to forming it onto them. State the facts, don’t argue, and if they want to they’ll figure things out on their own.
- Be the brand. Embody cannabis as best you can. Embody a positive cannabis vibe, not that of the lazy and dumb stoner. Rather one of positivity and potential and allow the positive impact it has had on your life to project onto those around you.Â
The final point I must make is that this isn’t something one should have to teach themselves. If you truly value the plant for the power that it holds, you should be ready to spread the positivity and do your best to change the negative stoner stereotype. Â
