It’s great to see people being introduced to cannabis in a slightly more controlled environment, but you do so at the risk of being raided by police seeing as they’re not exactly legal. This is why so many of these clubs do their best to fly under the radar and be as discreet as possible.Â
However, just because they’re low key doesn’t mean they aren’t premium in what they offer. After popping into most of the clubs scattered across Jozi, I can honestly and openly say that I have never seen such a premium and well thought out cannabis club in my 8 years of smoking!
 The 4k Club is a premium invite-only cannabis club reserved for those in power in and around the cannabis community. The club is located in a beautiful penthouse overlooking the Melrose area – only accessible through a small elevator located in the basement at a disclosed address. It really is quite James Bond-esque.Â
Not many clubs boast an “invite-only” experience, but it makes sense in this context as the complete experience is something out of a movie. From being welcomed with a 24-carat gold leaf blunt to smoking next level dab out of an 11 thousand Rand dab rig. The whole adventure left me not only high as a kite but highly pleased to be smoking on and with the highest quality people in and around weed in South Africa.Â
My biggest disconnect which I’ve had with cannabis clubs in South Africa is that they often feel cheap and tend to disappoint when it comes to product. When it comes to the 4k Club this was not the case! Offering a wide variety of strains, quality and forms of consumption to choose from. All accompanied by a delicious array of both local and international beverages, sweets and snacks to complement their good kush. Â
On that note, much love to the 4k Club and thank you for the invite! Keep doing what you’re doing in representing the community correctly. My only note is that this is the people’s plant and cannabis clubs such as 4k can and will in some cases exclude those that can’t afford it or can’t crack an invite. Â
